Republicans Want to Steal Your Vote
Lyndon Johnson said voting is: "…the basic right without which all others are meaningless.” He signed the Voting Rights Act as president in 1965. Today, the Republican Party and other Koch brothers’ stooges want to strip you of your right to vote.

I have only three things to say.
First of all nice job of toning down the rhetoric in that article. NOT I guess toning down the rhetoric onl applies to the Republicans, while the Dems can say whatever they want.
Secondly, have you ever heard of Chicago style politics? Vote early and often. Doesn't voter fraud steal ones vote? Just wonderin'
Finally, I guess requiring ID is such a terrible. Only Democrats could twist the facts and make requiring ID a racist agenda.
Please let me know if you think Democrats are capable or racism? Whether it be racism or reverse racism?
dems know the only way they can win an election is through voter fraud at the ballot box, or by "recounts" and "found" absentee ballots.
I wish a Republican legislator would push for voting day to be a federal holiday, that way no one would have an excuse as to why they can't make it to the ballot box WITH an ID at some point during the day.
I don't even bother reading omalleys crap anymore. If I want to hear lies and name calling I can go to a playground, at least the people there are acting their age.
I read the article and have to say that it is way off base. I see no problem in having to show id. You have to show id to buy cigarettes, beer, go into a R rated movie, etc but you don't have to for voting? I don't buy it's too expensive or too hard to get to the polling place. That's nonsense.
Sorry, I'm all for all people having the right to vote but showing id is not a bad thing. It's not a racist thing either.
One question for Pat.
In your opinion, do you think ACORN was guilty of any fraudulent activity as it related to voter registration, etc.?
If your answer is yes, then that alone should make a good case for why it should be ok to require ID.
If no... would love to hear why.
In regards to what Honest-Broker said, I think to his point about requiring ID for buying cigarettes, etc... to me seems like an easy no-brainer. Either you have ID to prove who you are or you don't.
I personally get angry when the people at the polling place do not ask me for my ID. One of these days I may go in there and just say I am one of my neighbors to see what happens.
I would do that, but I know I would get caught. My neighbor works the poll!
Don't hold your breath Mr. Silence DoGood. Pat can't and therefore won't answer your question as to whether Acorn was guilty of any voter fraud.
Typical liberal Democrat. Oooh wait, maybe I can't say that. That might be construed as promoting violence. I have to remember that only the Dems can decide what is PC and what is not.
I am not sure why producing identification should be a problem. I understand what Pat is saying about most people who do not have ID are minorities, but would be interested in seeing where those statistics come from. That being said, if you are 18 years old and walking around the streets of this country, you should be able to identify yourself. Voting is significantly more important than buying cigarettes or beer - voting is something far more special and should be as legitimate as it can be made.
that is an interesting point you make Sean...
"if you are 18 years old and walking around the streets of this country, you should be able to identify yourself"
if you are 18 and walking around you should have registered for selective service....oh wait...are "poor" people or "minorities" not required to do that?
